A traditional head in Ondo state and three others have reportedly been abducted by gunmen at Agopanu axis, Owo-Ikare road, in Ondo State.
This incident which took place on Thursday night along the Ago Panu axis of the Owo-Ikare highway is currently generatimg tension in the community.
The victims were said to be on transit to Ikare-Akoko from Akure, the State capital, when they were waylaid on the road.
Those kidnapped include the traditional head, the Oniku of Iku quarters in Ikare Akoko, High Chief Mukaila Bello, Adeniran Adeyemo, a former House of Assembly candidate for the Akoko North-East district and APC Chieftain, another chief in the community named Yeye Gbafinro, and Bashiru Adekile, a community leader.
The driver of the vehicle conveying the victims was machetted by the gunmen and is currently receiving treatment at Federal Medical Centre in Owo.
Meanwhile, the police command in the State, Funmi Odunlami, is yet to give official statement regarding this incident.
