The Chief Judge of the Federal High Court of Nigeria, Hon. Justice John T. Tsoho, has released a notice of posting for judges across the country.
The postings, which take effect from Tuesday, September 17, 2024, have become necessary following the elevation of eight judges to the Court of Appeal bench and other exigencies.
The notice, dated July 12, 2024, assigns judges to various judicial divisions across the country, including Abuja, Lagos, Port Harcourt, Enugu, and Kano, among others. The Chief Judge himself will be based in Abuja and Lagos.
In the notice, Hon. Justice Tsoho emphasized that all judges affected by the posting must assume duty at their new stations on the specified date. He also directed that judges should make their best efforts to dispose of cases in their current stations where the defence has been closed.

The Chief Judge further stated that the standard policies of the court regarding the movement of judges from one station to another shall be strictly adhered to.
In cases where the posting exercise has caused a shortfall in the number of resident judges in any judicial division, the remaining judge or judges shall take responsibility for the entire caseload of that division until directed otherwise.
The posting of judges is a routine exercise aimed at ensuring the effective administration of justice across the country.
