The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has addressed public concerns regarding challenges experienced by applicants of the Visa-on-Arrival (VOA) process due to recent system upgrades within Nigerian financial institutions.

In a statement issued on October 18, 2024, the Comptroller General of the Nigeria Immigration Service (CGIS), KN Nandap, acknowledged the difficulties faced by applicants. However, the NIS assured the public that “all platforms of the Service are functional” despite these payment-related issues.

The NIS further advised visa applicants to utilize online platforms for their Visa-on-Arrival applications, allowing them to complete the process conveniently from their homes. Applicants are encouraged to make payments online using their bank cards to ensure a seamless experience.

The statement emphasized the Service’s dedication to enhancing the VOA process:

“The NIS assures the public of its firm commitment to continuously ease the process of acquiring Visa-On-Arrival (VOA).”
Additionally, the Immigration Service provided official channels for inquiries, urging applicants to use these platforms for accurate information. The official website and portal links are:
