The Federal Capital Territory Administration has threatened to embark on revocation of Certificate of Occupancy of lands in Abuja.

It also threatened to sanction property owners in the FCT that failed to pay their ground rents.

The Director/Chief Executive Officer of the Abuja Geographic Information Systems, Dr Isa Jalo, disclosed to newsmen on Thursday in Abuja.

He said, “We have carried out public enlightenment to sensitise and create awareness on the need for property owners to come forward and settle their liabilities, yet some of them remain adamant.

“Hence, the FCT Administration has no any other option but wield the big stick as the law will strictly be adhered to because the government requires these funds to provide security and basic infrastructure.”

The director advised all land owners in the FCT to always register their transactions relating to their property with the AGIS and Land Administration Department, saying it would improve the security of lives and property of Abuja residents.
