A former lawmaker who represented the Jechira Federal Constituency in Benue State between 2003 and 2007 has allegedly beaten her husband to a pulp, leaving him with serious injuries and extreme anguish.

Hon. Sharon Aondona Daboh allegedly attacked her husband in the most heinous manner on Wednesday evening, but it is unclear what sparked the latest brawl, except that it occurred just days after the husband, Mr David Fiase Aondona, made a public post on Facebook alleging a threat to his life and asking the public to hold his wife responsible if anything happened to him.

In the post, Mr Fiase had accused his wife of trying to kill him via “domestic violence.”

The short post read “I can’t sleep. I am scared. I feel threatened by Hon. Sharon Aondona Daboh. If anything happens to me, she should be held responsible. David Fiase.”

But, in a quick response, Mr Fiase has petitioned the Inspector General of Police, pleading with him to assist him to stop his wife from murdering him by dissolving the marriage, as he isn’t sure he’ll survive another beating.

In the petition made by BIMA CHAMBERS, Mr. Fiase requested the dissolution of the marriage saying the “woman would habitually threaten to kill him by any slightest misunderstanding we had as a couple.”

According to the petition, the pair married in 2017 but began experiencing problems a year later, prompting him to escape his matrimonial house for fear of being killed by his estranged wife.

Fiase further told the IGP that “sometime in February 2019, he caused a notice of the petition for the decree of dissolution of the marriage between him and his wife to be filed at the FCT High Court, but the case died following the death of the learned Judge whose court the suit was assigned.

He said he had been through hell and could die having received the worst beatings at the hands of his wife.

Regrettably, “while efforts were being made to serve his wife the court summons, Mr Fiase said he was kidnapped somewhere in Garki, FCT-Abuja, on the 24th July, 2019, by unknown persons, who stabbed him brutally in his face and neck, before toamssing him out of a moving vehicle, and left to die by the roadside.

However, he said survived the gory attack and thereafter made a formal complaint at the Garki Police Station.

Even at that, he said his wife kept assaulting and harassing and threatening to snuff the life out of him.

He said it was the basis upon which he sought an end to their union so as to restore his peace of mind and end the sufferings from the sustained psychological trauma which he said could take his life.

“We count on your good offices to invite and investigate Hon. Sharon Aondona Daboh accordingly and also cause her to undertake the safety of our client”, the petition said.
