Ekiti State public officials have been warned that careless or wilful damage of public properties would no longer be tolerated.
The public officials were equally urged to take proper care of office furniture/equipment, vehicles and other government assets in their care,
The Director General of the Ekiti State Office of Transformation and Service Delivery, Dr. John Ekundayo gave the charge in Ado Ekiti during a verification tour of some Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) to ascertain the work condition with a view to proactively checkmate inefficiency and promote effective service delivery.
Ekundayo, who explained that the exercise was aimed at ensuring that all MDAs are delivering in line with the six strategic actionable pillars of the Governor Biodun Oyebanji administration, reiterated the commitment of the government to the provision of a conducive working atmosphere.
He stressed that Oyebanji has invested so much to provide necessary facilities including utility vehicles, office accommodations and furniture to ensure smooth running of government business and appealed to the users to safeguard them and make sure that they are properly utilized.
He also noted that government may not be able to attend to all requests at the same time, adding that MDAs must fashion out ways of blocking all leakages as careless or wilful damage of public properties would no longer be tolerated.
Frowning at the carefree attitude of some public officers to government assets and working tools, Ekundayo advised government functionaries to handle the equipment as if they are theirs.
According to him, the Oyebanji administration remains committed to employee-friendly environment in the state to guarantee optimal productivity and would continue to provide necessary apparatus to drive the success of the administration.
