The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has resumed the collation of the results for the Edo State Governorship Election held on Saturday.
The State INEC returning officer and Vice Chancellor of the Federal University Minna Niger State, Prof. Faruk Adamu, earlier on Sunday declared a recess.
He said the collations of results would resume at 5pm. The results of two local governments are still pending.
The results of the remaining two LGAs, Oredo and Ikpoba Okha will be declared once collation resumes and the winner of the election will be declared.
The results of 16 out of 18 LGAs have been collated.
According to tabulated results so far, APC is leading with 244,549 votes while PDP is coming a distant second with 195,959 votes.
Meanwhile, tension is mounting in the state capital as PDP supporters have demanded that all the results announced and uploaded in IREV portal should be announced.
