The current state of the economy is concerning, as expressed by Davido.
Afrobeats sensation David Adeleke, better known as Davido, has cautioned African-Americans against moving to Africa in light of Donald Trump’s recent election win in the U.S.
There have been reports of several high-profile individuals, particularly African-Americans, considering a move away from the U.S. following Trump’s reelection.
During a chat on the Big Homies House podcast, Davido advised those thinking about relocating to Africa to reconsider their plans.
He emphasized that things aren’t great in Africa right now, noting that many countries on the continent are facing economic struggles.
“It’s not cool back home. The economy is a mess right now,” he stated.
The artist made it clear that he wasn’t trying to put Africa down; instead, he wants to uplift the continent through his music.
He mentioned that the entertainment industry is what’s giving Africa a bit of a positive image.
