Hon. Justice Edward Amoako Asante, President of Community Court of Justice of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) has on 22nd day of May, 2020 issued the Court’s Practice Directions On Electronic Case Management & Virtual Court Hearing. TheNigerialawyer reports

This practice direction is issued in view of the Coronavirus pandemic and in the quest to embrace the protocols on the prevention of the virus in Court.                                                                                                                                                                                It would be recalled that the President of the Court on Friday, 20th day of March, 2020 had earlier on suspended all the Court’s activities as a result of the outbreak of COVID-19.

Therefore, in a bid to ensure that the Coronavirus does not completely ground the Court’s administration of justice, the President had issued the practice direction for timely administration of justice amidst the pandemic and furthermore, to ensure that the safety of Judges, Staff and the ultimate Court Users are guaranteed.
