A former Minister of Defence, General Theophilus Danjuma (rtd) has donated $500,000 towards the development of infrastructure for University of Medical Sciences Olu Akinkugbe Faculty of Pharmacy.
The donation is to support the institution commence undergraduate studies in Pharmacy (Doctor of Pharmacy programme).
Chairman of Olu Akinkugbe Pharmacy Education Trust (OAPET), Prince Julius Adelusi-Adeluyi, stated this at its Board meeting.
The Trust is partnering with the State Government and the University in the development of the Faculty of Pharmacy.
Vice-Chancellor of the institution, Professor Adesegun Fatusi, who is also a member of the OAPET Board, said the donation would the institution meet its target to completing and commissioning the Olu Akinkugbe Faculty of Pharmacy building this year
He reteriated the full commitment of the University management to the plan to commence the Doctor of Pharmacy programme in the new academic session, starting in October 2024.
