The Chief Justice of Nigeria, Hon. Justice Tanko Muhammad has returned to Nigeria after he traveled to Dubai, United Arab Emirates, according to City Lawyer.
It was reported that the CJN flew back to Nigeria yesterday and has resumed duty immediately.
TheNigeriaLawyer recalls that the CJN missed the inauguration of the 72 new Senior Advocates of Nigeria and the new legal year of the Supreme Court.
As a result, anxiety has trailed the health status of the CJN and following the statement of a Supreme Court Justice, Justice Ibrahim Saulawa who stated that the CJN had tested positive for COVID-19 and was receiving treatment in Dubai.
However, the Supreme Court’s Director of Information, Dr. Festus Akande had dispelled any anxiety over the CJN’s health noting that it was a figment of the imagination of those peddling the rumors.
“Those peddling the rumour should go a step further to confirm from their sources and equally obtain the copy of whatever laboratory test result they are relying on.
“As of this moment of issuing this statement, no one has so far shown me or any other person in Supreme Court a copy of the test result they are referring to in the report, he had said.
