The Federal High Court has announced the commencement of Christmas vacation from Tuesday, 22nd December, 2020.
In a circular signed by the Chief Judge of Federal High Court, Hon. Justice John T. Tsoho ,sighted by Legaldeskng. He noted that only matters relating to the enforcement of fundamental rights, arrest or release of vessels, and matters of national interest will be entertained.
The circular reads in part “Pursuant to the provisions of Order 46, Rule 4 (C) of the Federal High Court Civil Procedure Rules, 2019, the Federal High Court will proceed on its Christmas vacation for the year 2020 from Tuesday, 22nd December, 2020 to Friday, 8th January, 2021.”
According to the circular the Court shall resume on Monday, 11th January, 2021 and during the vacation only the core stations will, as usual, remain functional and open to the litigating public throughout the vacation.
“It is essential to stress that during the period of vacation, only matters relating to the enforcement of fundamental rights, arrest or release of vessels, and other matters of national interest will be entertained by the vacation Judges.”
