In a move aimed at streamlining operations and promoting digital efficiency, the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) has announced the discontinuance of manual submission for winding up and receivership applications.

The decision, which comes into effect on 7th August 2023, marks a significant shift towards embracing the Companies Registration Portal (CRP) as the sole channel for processing these applications.

The announcement was made through a public notice released by the Management of the Commission, underscoring their commitment to enhancing customer experience and improving overall service delivery.

The notice outlined the specific applications that would no longer be accepted via manual or email submissions, urging all stakeholders to utilize the CRP for the following processes:
a. Winding-up processes and dissolution of companies; b. Appointments of receiver and discharge of receiver; and c. Companies’ Voluntary Arrangement (CVA); Administration, and netting.

The Companies Registration Portal (CRP) has been actively deployed and operational, providing a user-friendly interface for businesses and individuals to handle various corporate filings and requests efficiently.

By implementing this digital transformation, the CAC aims to reduce processing times, minimize paperwork, and enhance accuracy in the handling of winding-up and receivership applications. The move is expected to simplify the overall registration and dissolution processes, benefiting businesses, legal practitioners, and stakeholders involved in corporate affairs.
