There was panic yesterday morning at High Court Number 4 Aba, Abia State, when the roofing of the court building collapsed on three Registrars of the court moments after the Judge, Justice Okoroafor, finished sitting.

Information available to newsmen shows that nobody was seriously hurt as the three Registrars in the court was safely evacuated by Lawyers but the shocking accident left the Judge, Lawyers and Litigants traumatized.

A source told newsmen that the building has been in a very bad state of decay without any maintenance for a very long time. “The roofs of the building has been leaking for years, We thank God that litigants and the judge were saved when the ceiling of the court caved in.” … a source told our editor.

A former Attorney General of the State Umeh Kalu SAN had written a damning letter to the Governor of the state, Okezie Ikpeazu, where he said that court rooms in Abia is like a village hut. The Abia State Government in response to the letter accused the Ex Attorney General of playing politics issues in the state.
