President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is currently chairing a Council of State meeting at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

Among those in attendance are former Presidents Muhammadu Buhari and Goodluck Jonathan, while former Presidents Yakubu Gowon and Abdulsalami Abubakar are participating virtually.
Former President Olusegun Obasanjo is currently absent at the meeting.

The National Council of State meetings are convened to advise the President on policy decisions and other important matters.

Attendees include the President, Vice President, former Presidents and Heads of State, the Senate President, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, state governors, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, and the Attorney-General of the Federation.

This meeting, the first organized by the current administration, comes shortly after protests erupted across Nigeria against the prevailing economic hardships and policies of the government.

Some Ministers are also present at the meeting.
