The Niger Government has promised to end banditry and other forms of criminality in the state.
Ahmed Matane, Secretary to the State Government (SSG) spoke when he received Victims Support Fund (VSF), led by its Executive Director, Prof. Nana Tanko in Minna on Friday.
Matane said that the government was worried by the activities of bandits, kidnappers and cattle rustlers.
The SSG expressed the readiness of the Sani Bello administration to partner with stakeholders to curtail security challenges.
Matane confirmed that seven Local Government Areas – Munya, Shiroro, Rafi, Mariga, Wushishi, Rijau and Mashegu – were affected by the recurring attacks.
In the latest attack on multiple villages in Rijau LGA, bandits looted shops and rustled hundreds of cows.
