A former ally of President Muhammadu Buhari, Buba Galadima, says his family members are now “scattered” in relatives’ houses following the seizure of his residence by the Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria.
The corporation had announced the taking over of his residence and company over “debts to the tune of N900m”
But Galadima had described it as a witch-hunt.
He told Daily Trust not TheNigerialawyer on the telephone yesterday that while he travelled to Lagos State over the matter, his family, including his wife, children and grandchildren, were relocated to relatives’ houses in Abuja.
“They (AMCON) have taken over the house and the family are scattered here and there with relatives. I’m in Lagos to see the lawyers who handled the matter and some other issues,” Galadima said.
He said he initially resisted the take-over of his property with 30 policemen who came to effect of the take-over.
He said he later agreed to move, but that the policemen had been reduced to six.
“The Policemen that came were respectful and friendly. They were 30 before and we now see that they’ve been reduced to six,” Galadima said.
