A Young man Akpoghene Edeno, who was wrongly accused and sentenced to 12 years imprisonment is among the 2019 set law school graduates that were called to Nigerian Bar.

Akpoghene was wrongly accused of murder which later led to his conviction where he served a jail term for 12 years.

While in prison Akpoghene chooses to make a decision that changed his life for good.

His childhood friend Charles Mallam-Obi, disclosed this incredible story on his Facebook handles lauding him for making something out of his misfortune.

According to Obi, Akpoghene Edeno sat for the West African Senior School Examination (WASSCE) while in prison and proceed to study law at the University of Benin (UNIBEN) after serving out his term in 2012.

Obi wrote, “Akpoghene Edeno is my childhood friend who spent twelve years in prison for a murder he didn’t commit. He wrote WAEC while still in prison. He came out in 2012 and immediately proceeded to the University of Benin to study law. Today, he has been called to the Nigeria bar.

“His story is a testament to how indomitable the determined human spirit is. He could have been bitter at the society for the injustice of suffering for an offense he didn’t commit. He could have been depressed. But he chose to show up and face the challenges of life,” he stated.
