OBSCURELEGALFACTS BY AROME ABU

In Nigeria, an owner, manager or person in charge of affairs in any public place shall cause a notice in English language and atleast one predominant local language to be displayed containing the warning “NO SMOKING AREA-SMOKING HERE IS AN OFFENCE”.

This notice shall bear the word “WARNING” in capital letter and in red color on white background and a picture of a black burning cigarette encircled in red, bearing the words “Penalty is N50,000 or imprisonment for 6 months or both appearing at the buttom.

Must be posted at the appropriate location of a prohibited area.
