Effurun branch of Nigerian Bar Association has commended Uvwie Council Chairman for seeing that Dangote trucks and other petroleum tankers are no longer parked dangerously and indiscriminately along the P.T.I and NPA expressway.

The branch Publicity secretary, Kingsley Okes Idisi, Esq. FICMC, Monday confirmed to TheNigerialawyer, that the truck drivers have complied substantially with the directive of the Council boss.

“Barely 48 hours after the Uvwie Council boss got the letter, the Council issued a directive giving a seven-day ultimatum to all Dangote truck drivers to remove their trucks from the expressway. The directive was duly broadcast across all major media houses in Delta State,” said.

The Chairman of the branch, Don. O. Egho, also commended the Uvwie Council boss for listening to the genuine voice of the electorates.

According to him, the swift response of the Uvwie Council boss is the ideal way of responding to issues troubling the electorates in a democratic setting.

The chairman, therefore, urges the federal and state government to take a cue from the Uvwie Council boss and be humane to the genuine complaints of the masses towards a better life.

Egho, Esq, ChMC and the Secretary, Jonathan Ekperusi Esq,. made a complaint about the menace of Dangote trucks parked dangerously along the expressway vide a letter to the Chairman, Uvwie Local Government Council, Effurun, and Unit Commander, RS5.21, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Warri dated 14th October, made available to TheNigerialawyer(TNL) and also published on 28th October 2019.

It was a result of resolution reached at the Monthly General Meeting of the Branch, held on Sunday, 29th September, 2019 at the Bar Centre, High Court Complex, Effurun, Delta State.
