A lawyer, Osita Enwe, has written the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), under the Freedom of Information Act, requesting details of the budget of the 2020 Annual General Conference (AGC).
In the letter which is dated 22nd September, 2020 sighted by legaldeskng (LDN), the lawyer gave NBA 7 days to also provide details of actual expenses regarding the budget and same to be published in the NBA website.

REQUEST FOR SPECIFIC INFORMATION: NBA 2020 CONFERENCE BUDGET
We make reference to the NBA’s announcement of the N80, 000, 000.00k budget for the year 2020 virtual annual conference (the “budget”) and request that you disclose to us within 7 (seven) days on your receipt of this letter specific details of the budget as well as gifts and donations received from individuals and corporate organizations howsoever describable in respect of funding of the year 2020 virtual conference (the “disclosure”).
The disclosure should include specific details of actual expenses arising from and relating to the said budget as well as copies of invoices and proofs of payments thereto.
Our request include that you publish the disclosure and related requests on a conspicuous section on the NBA’s website.
Kindly note that our application is predicated on the enabling provisions of the Freedom of Information Act, 2011 and our inherent rights as members of the NBA.
