The national leadership of the Judiciary Staff of Nigeria, on Sunday, maintained that as long as the Ebonyi State Government continues to ignore the demands of the state judiciary workers, their services would also be withdrawn from the government.
Recall that the state judiciary workers had gone on indefinite strike about three weeks ago, citing lack of improved welfare.
The National Vice President (South East Zone) JUSUN, Ifezue Mark, who stated this while addressing journalists on the ongoing strike by the union in the state in Abakaliki, said that its members in the state were not being paid the Consolidated Judiciary Salary Structure.
He added the state government had also refused to pay them their annual leave allowances and authourised their promotions, since 2015.
The JUSUN leadership, equally alleged that “Ebonyi State is the only state across the federation, that does not pay CONJUSS”.
He pointed out that the government’s claim that the workers were asking for salary increase, was, “most uncharitable”.
Mark, who noted that the judiciary workers were ready to call off the strike should the authorities do the needful, observed that government’s attitude towards every peaceful move, was discouraging on the union members.
