The Nigerian Communications Commission, NCC, has undertaken a major shakeup at its senior management cadre.
We understands that the commission’s decision was in accordance with the renewed commitment by Prof. Umar Danbatta, the Executive Vice Chairman, of the Commission to bring in new ideas and energy into some aspects of the organisation’s regulatory activities.

This is following his (Danbata) recent reappointment by President Muhammadu Buhari for another tenure.
Recall that President Buhari had recently approved the reappointment of Professor Danbatta the Executive Vice Chairman of NCC

His reappointment followed the recommendation of the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Isa Pantami.

Affected by the restructuring are the Director, Compliance Monitoring and Enforcement Department, Efosa Idehen; Director, Public Affairs Department, Dr. Henry Nkemadu; Director, Consumer Affairs Bureau, Dr. Ikechukwu Adinde, and Director, Research and Development (R and D) Department, Ephraim Nwokonneya.

The redeployment is with immediate effect as Nwokonneya is the Director, Compliance Monitoring and Enforcement Department and Idehen assumed as Director, Consumer Affairs Bureau.

Also, Adinde is taking over as the Director, Public Affairs Department, while Nkemadu resumes at the Research and Development department.

Danbatta, an insider told DAILY POST has been taking more proactive measures to demonstrate renewed vigour and commitment to strengthen the commission since his reappointment.

Danbatta had last Tuesday launched a new Strategic Management Plan (SMP) 2020-2024 for the commission in Abuja.
