Following the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Keffi Branch election held at the High Court 1, Keffi on the 15th day of June, 2020, A former NBA-YLF National Council Member and Keffi Branch Secretary, Mr. Yakubu Moses EDE has emerged as the Chairman of NBA Keffi Branch.

This was disclosed in an election result announced by the Chairman of the Electoral Committee, Mr. Gabriel Batiang Ashi, on Monday.

Ede emerged with landslide victory whereat he garnered 25 votes and defeated his opponent who scored 1 vote. Mr. Chiadikobi Izuchukwu Ezike emerged unopposed as the Branch Secretary.

The branch Treasurer, Mr. Ismaila Madaki Zubairu was equally returned unopposed.

Meanwhile, the other positions like the Vice Chairman, Publicity Secretary, Assistant Secretary, Legal Adviser, Welfare Officer, Provost and Social Secretary were not contested for.

Pursuant to Article 17(3) of the Uniform Bye Law, the congress unanimously resolved and mandated the Election Committee to fix a date for bye election to fill those positions Immediately.

Furthermore, the new Executive Committee of the Branch are:

YAKUBU MOSES EDE – Chairman

Chiadikobi Izuchukwu Ezike – Secretary

Ismaila Madaki Zubairu – Treasurer

In the interest of the branch and to ensure its unity the Chairman, Mr. EDE, in his acceptance speech constituted reconciliation committee to be headed by the former chairman Mr. A. H. Iliya. The committee is to dispassionately look into the events of the campaign with a view of embracing the losers to build the branch.
