The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) has ratified resolutions aimed at addressing ongoing challenges in the production and distribution of stamps. These resolutions, initially discussed during a meeting between the National Executive Committee and Branch Chairmen and Secretaries on September 9, 2024, were formally approved by the NBA-NEC on November 7, 2024.

Henry Barnabas Ehi, the Assistant General Secretary of the NBA, stated that providing free stamps and seals to members is no longer feasible due to the prevailing economic realities. He also highlighted that the previous cost of Four Thousand Naira (N4,000) for a pack of four sheets, which had been in place since 2015, is unsustainable.

As a result, the NBA has introduced new pricing for stamps and seals:

  • Two Thousand Naira (N2,000) per sheet (24 stamps)
  • Four Thousand Naira (N4,000) for two sheets (48 stamps)
  • Seven Thousand Naira (N7,000) per pack (4 sheets) (96 stamps)

Production of the stamps and seals has already begun, with members who have made payments set to receive email notifications once their stamps are delivered to their respective branches.

In the NBA-NEC communiqué, further details on these resolutions were shared, and the NBA expressed its appreciation for the understanding and cooperation of its members. The association remains focused on creating a sustainable and efficient system for stamp production and distribution.
