The Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Hassan Bala Abubakar, has cautioned troops to remain resolute and battle ready as war against terrorism and other related criminals is not yet over in the country.

The Chief of Air Staff gave the warning during a Christmas luncheon organised by the Air Component of the Operation Hadin Kai for the personnel in Maiduguri on Wednesday.

According to Abubakar, the Nigerian Air Force is not just defending the airspace as the core mandate but also the very fabric of the society, their values, their future and have been a significant support system to the ground forces, as well as other security agencies.
He said, “Your efforts in the face of danger and hardship ensure that peace has a chance to return to this region once again.”

Abubakar stated that their concerted efforts backed by strategic planning, community engagements, as well as firm resolve have incapacitated the insurgents, disrupted their activities and reduced their ability to harm innocent lives.

He said that the current security challenges the nation is facing required modern and versatile platforms to address such menace.

Abubakar stated that as they move forward into the new year, they should renew their commitment to the task at hand with even greater resolve, stressing that they have come far and the road ahead required all of them to stay united, focused and steadfast in the face of any challenges.

Air Officer Tactical Air Command, Air Vice Marshal EOE Ebiowe, had earlier explained that the swift response of Air Component and the impact of its air strikes during the recent terrorists’ attacks to own troops location at Kareto, Kukawa and other critical areas, was a testament of the unwavering commitment of the NAF to fight and end the menace of terrorism in the country.
