Tasi’u Abdullahi, a 10-year-old boy from the Rikkos community in the Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State, was brutally murdered by his kidnappers.
After the parents of Abdullahi paid N150,000 as part of the ransom demanded, he was reportedly killed, and his lifeless body was discovered in a sack on Friday near his family’s house.
Aliyu Muhammad, the deceased’s uncle, told newsmen that the boy was kidnapped in front of his family house on Monday, December 16, after being lured by unknown individuals.
He explained, “The abductors contacted the family five days later, demanding a sum of N50,000 for the boy’s feeding and a ransom of N1 million.”
Aliyu Muhammad further stated that they eventually agreed to pay N300,000 after rounds of negotiations, of which N150,000 was paid.
He added that after transferring N150,000 through a bank account provided by the abductors, they were shocked to receive a call from a woman the following day informing them that their child had been killed and abandoned near their house.
He lamented that upon examining the boy’s body, they observed that he had been strangled, with blood coming out of his nose and mouth.
Two suspects were reportedly arrested in connection with the incident, according to Muhammad.
The Public Relations Officer, PPRO, is yet to respond to calls placed to his phone.
