The Nigerian House of Representatives has congratulated Chidimma Adetshina for emerging as the first runner-up at the 73rd Miss Universe pageant in Mexico City.

Chidimma’s journey to the top was not without its challenges. Initially, she participated in the Miss South Africa 2024 pageant but withdrew due to controversy surrounding her citizenship.

However, this setback didn’t hold her back. She went on to represent Taraba State and won Miss Universe Nigeria 2024, earning the right to represent Nigeria at the Miss Universe pageant.

A congratulatory message, signed by Rep. Akin Rotimi Jr., spokesman for the House of Representatives, on Sunday, said “the deputy speaker Rt. Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kalu praised her tenacity and grace, stating that her inspiring story, marked by perseverance and grace, will undoubtedly serve as a beacon of hope and motivation for generations to come”.
