Social media critic, Martins Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan, has been granted bail of N2 million with two sureties in the same amount after his arraignment for impersonation on Friday.

VeryDarkMan, who was charged by the police for his alleged impersonation, was also ordered by the court to submit his international passports and any other forms of identification.
Deji Adeyanju, his attorney, claims that VDM has been given bail, but with strict restrictions, however, the lawyer did not reveal the conditions of the bail granted to his client.

VeryDarkMan, who identified himself as the CSP of the police internet division in a video, was charged by the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) with impersonation and unlawful use of its uniform.

The police said in a statement released on Friday by Force Public Relations Officer ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, titled “Impersonation: VDM To Appear In Court Today, FCT Command Leading Prosecution,” that VDM, who was taken into custody after accepting an interrogation invitation, would face charges for charges relating to impersonation in a social media video that went viral online.
