The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested a fake fertility nurse for defrauding 45 women of N28.2 million under the pretext of helping them conceive.

The suspect, Blessing Amaka, claimed to be a fertility expert and promised victims successful pregnancies through her unregistered clinic.

However, investigations revealed that she had no medical qualifications or experience.

“Her victims, mostly desperate and vulnerable women seeking fertility solutions, were duped into paying huge sums for fake treatments,” said EFCC spokesperson, Wilson Uwujaren.

“The commission will ensure justice is served and protect Nigerians from such heartless scams,” Uwujaren added.

The suspect will face charges for advanced fee fraud and impersonation.
