The Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) signed a ₦N00 million contract with Premium Trust Bank on Tuesday for the grassroots development of sports in Nigeria.
The four-year contract will cover football and other related sports development in the country.
Speaking at the MoU signing, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the bank, Mr. Emmanuel Emefieri, said the bank was spurred by the passion it has for sports development in Nigeria and that the partnership is going to focus on football and other related sports, having done so much for athletes in the last 23 months of its operation.
He explained that the focus of the agreement is not on NFF but on transforming grassroots sports in the country.
In his remarks, the President of the NFF, Alh. Ibrahim Musa, said the agreement came at the right time as the first partnership agreement the NFF is signing after the constitution of its board.
He pledged the support of NFF to the bank and also promised to provide it with the necessary privileges it required to succeed in the endeavour.
