The National leadership of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) has warned the Ogun State Independent National Electoral Commission (OGSIEC) not to tamper with the ‘original logo’ of the party, as it prepares for the forthcoming local government elections in the state.Prophet Ibrahim

According to the party, the logo has been in existence for the past 22 years.

The NNPP National Secretary, Comrade Oginni Olaposi Sunday, who stated this in a letter to OGSIEC, noted that the party’s logo with ‘basket of fruits’ remains the symbol of the party.

Oginni emphasized that the logo has been in use for the past 22 years, adding that the party has no intention of changing it for whatever reason.

In the letter addressed to the Chairman, Ogun State Independent Electoral Commission titled: New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) Logo and Symbol Remain Unchanged, noted that “the purported attempt by a group, known as ‘Kwankwasia’ with the connivance of some INEC officials to change the original logo of the party was a ruse”.

He said, “The leadership of the party at its convention held in Abuja on Sunday the 21st of July, 2024, unanimously rejected the purported change of the logo of party”.

“The leadership of the party has approached the Federal High Court Abuja, to challenge the illegal Kwankwasia Group Convention that brought in the illegal change of logo, asking the Court to declare all the actions of the Kwankwasia’s group a nullity”, Oginni added.
“Consequently, we urge your commission in respect of the rule of law and Zz of our democracy not to tamper with the “original logo” of the NEW NIGERIA PEOPLE’S PARTY (NNPP) that has been in existence and usage for the past 22 years.
