Distinguished Colleagues,
Following a successful election in which the Bar elected a new set of leaders to pilot the association’s affairs for the next two years, the current National Executive Committee commenced the transition process.
Several Standing and Ad Hoc Committees were constituted within the past two years to handle specific assignments, as spelled out in their various terms of reference.
Ahead of the expiration of the tenure of this administration and in preparation thereto, I hereby, on behalf of the National Executive Council, dissolve all Standing and Ad-Hoc Committees of the Association, with the exception of the 2024 Annual General Conference Planning Committee (AGCPC).
Similarly, the Governing Board of the Institute of Continuing Legal Education, whose tenure expired on March 18, 2024, is hereby also dissolved.
The erstwhile Chairman of the ICLE is to submit the Handover Report of the Governing Board, as earlier requested via my email of July 25, 2024, not later than August 9, 2024.
The Election Committee of the Nigerian Bar Association (ECNBA) and the National Officers Election Appeal Committee (NOEAC), however, remain standing until they are reconstituted in accordance with the provisions of the NBA Constitution, 2015 (as amended in 2021).
The National Executive Committee sincerely appreciates members of the Committees for their selfless service and support for this administration. Your contributions have been of immense value to the association, and we do not take them for granted. The bar owes you a debt of gratitude.
Further to the foregoing, and to ensure a smooth and hitch-free hand-over process, a Transition Committee is hereby constituted as follows:

I thank the members of the Committee for accepting to serve the Association in this capacity.

NBA President.
