Mazi Afam Osigwe, SAN, maintains a seeming comfortable win 12 hours into the ongoing NBA 2024 elections, as voting commenced at 12am today Saturday the 20th of July 2024, to end at 23:59 today.

As at the time of filing this report at 12noon today, he has amassed a total number of 13099 votes, while his opponents Tobenna Erojikwe and Chukwuka Ikwuazom, SAN, trail him with 7519 votes and 6822 votes, respectively.

The contest for the position of the first vice president has seen Mr. Sebastian Anyia garnering 8003 votes, with his closest rival, Mr. Bartholomew Aguegbodo trailing him with 4790 votes. While Dr. Promise Wobo Iwezor has polled 3875 votes; William Soseipiriye has 3844 votes; Reginald Iheanyichukwu Ugwuadu, 2251 votes; and Dr. Gerald Ugochukwu Abonyi, 2197 votes.
Mrs. Bolatumi Olasunbo Animashaun is leading in the contest for the 2nd Vice President with 17552 votes, while Mr. Pius Idemudia Oiwoh has 8045 votes.

The race for the 3rd Vice President has seen Mrs. Zainab Aminu Garba rack up 15890 votes, while Mr. Michael Olarewaju Olorunmola has gathered 9577 votes.

In the two-horse race for the General Secretary, Dr. Mobolaji Ojibara has sustained his early lead with 17547 votes, while his opponent, Mr. Abdulwasiu Alfa, has 8001 votes to his name.

While Barnabas Ehi has garnered 19627 votes, Mr. Oluwaseun Aka trails with 5526 votes, in the contest for the Assistant Secretary.
In the three-horse race for the position of the treasurer, while Mrs. Blessing Imo Udofa-Poromon has garnered 12108 votes, Mr. Mbamala Chukwuemeka has 6897 votes, and Mrs. Caroline Obi, 6420 votes.

Mr. Nyada Auta is leading the contest for Welfare Secretary with 12706 votes, while his opponents, Oaikhena Osagie and Mr. Ernest Ezindu Uwanaka have 8651 and 3867 votes, respectively.
Bridget Edokwe has distanced her opponents with 13168 votes, with Mr. Charles Ajiboye coming closest with 7552, while Mr. Ferdinand Naza has 5292 to his name, for the position of the Publicity Secretary.

Miss. Ebiere Emmanuella Ekpese has polled 18205 leaving her opponent with 6735 votes, for the position of Assitanct Publicity Secretary.

The votes for the Representatives to the General Council of the Bar (Eastern Zone) has expectedly tied at 17158 for the 5 aspirants – Mr. Augustine Osondu Ike, Mr. Daniel Ka-Ayi Kip, Mr. Eric Chigozie Ibe, Mr. Michael Chukwurah Onuorah, and Mr. Obi Lawrence Anizoba.

The same position for the Northern Zone has been solitarily aspired for by Mr. Tijjani Magaji, who has polled 20845 votes.
Same tie exists in Western Zone side of the position, with all the 5 candidates – Mr. Israel Solomon Lagbamue, Mr. Kingsley Asagba, Mr. Olukunle Ogheneovo Edun, Mr. Precious Ndidi Nwadimuyah, and Mr. Sulayman Adamu Dawud garnering 17429 votes.

The 2nd half of this interesting match is underway and the ECNBA is expected to blow the final whistle at 23:59hrs today.
