A Nigerian businessman based in the United States, Onyejekwe Izuchukwu, was found dead in a hotel in the Ikoyi area of Lagos State.

The 62-year-old, who checked into the hotel on June 7, 2024, died on June 9, 2024.

Izuchukwu, the President of Bits and Drilling Tools, a division of Schlumberger, had reportedly come to Nigeria for a business transaction.

He was discovered on the floor of his hotel room by a cleaner around 7 PM on June 9, 2024.
The Assistant Chief Security Officer of the hotel reported the incident to the police.

Benjamin Hundeyin, the spokesman for the Lagos State Police Command, confirmed Izuchukwu’s death.

Hundeyin stated, “Izuchukwu was found lifeless on the floor of the hotel room. A doctor confirmed him dead, and his corpse has been deposited in a morgue in Ikeja for autopsy. The command has commenced an investigation into the case.”
