The Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Arc Ahmed Musa Dangiwa, has warned developers handling construction of the 250-unit Renewed Hope Estate Project in Katsina State.
The minister stressed that substandard performance would not be tolerated, urging them to adhere to the project’s specification and deliver high-quality.
“I want to task the developers of this project, Messrs K-4 Engineering Ltd, WindLand Engineering & Properties Ltd, Real Phenomenon Integral Services Ltd and Saltine Engineering Services Ltd to ensure that they build according to specifications and delivers a quality job as substandard work will not be tolerated. We also want to have this work finished within the next three months so that we can begin the process of offtake for Katsina residents,” Dangiwa said.
The minister gave the warning at the groundbreaking ceremony of the 250 housing unit project in Katsina State on Wednesday.
According to Dangiwa, the blueprint for the Renewed Hope Estate comprises 50 units of 1-bedroom semi-detached bungalows, 100 units of 2-bedroom semi-detached bungalows, and 50 units of
3 -bedroom semi-detached bungalows.
He outlined various ownership options, including single-digit mortgage loans, rent-to-own schemes, and outright purchase options, aimed at ensuring accessibility and affordability for all income levels.
The Housing Minister disclosed that the project is designed to accommodate future expansions as beneficiaries’ financial circumstances improve.
Beyond housing, the minister highlighted the project’s potential for economic growth. He estimated that each of the housing unit would generate an average of 25 jobs, translating to approximately 6,250 opportunities in Katsina alone.
Dangiwa stated that the project is within the context of a broader national rollout, with ongoing projects in other states and future groundbreaking ceremonies planned for Kano, Yobe, and Gombe. He commended Governor Dikko Radda for promptly providing land for the project at no cost to the government.
The minister emphasised that the initiative aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s vision for inclusive development.
The project, he said, plans to deliver a total of 50,000 housing units across Nigeria.
The state governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, applauded the initiative, describing it as a driver of economic growth and social development.
He expressed his gratitude to the Federal Government and President Tinubu for their commitment to addressing housing needs in Nigeria.
