The Kano Zonal Command of the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons, NAPTIP, has received 51 rescued victims of human trafficking.

NAPTIP zonal commander, Abdullahi Babale, stated this on Monday in Kano during the handing over of the victims rescued by the Kano State Hisbah Board.

He said Hisbah operatives arrested two suspects in connection with the trafficking, adding that the rescued victims, aged 18 to 50, comprised 49 females and two males.

“The victims were rescued on April 21, at Hotoro motor park in Kano metropolis by the State Hisbah Board on their way to Cote d’Ivoire, to secure visa to travel to Saudi Arabia for labour exploitation.

“Out of the 51 victims, two are from Niger Republic, while others were from Kano, Katsina, Yobe and Jigawa states,” he said.
