Ahead of the governorship election in Ondo State, the state government has issued a stern warning to civil servants in the state to steer clear of partisan politics.

Speaking through the Head of Service, Bayo Philip, the state government urged them to strictly adhere to the tenets of public service by refraining from any form of electoral campaign or activity.

Philip stated this during the commencement of the 2024 promotion exercise for civil servants in the state.

He stressed the need to maintain neutrality and professionalism among workers in the state, urging them to focus on the duties and jobs they were employed to do as civil servants.

“I must also tell you. This is an election year. Do your job. You are civil servants and have nothing to do with partisan politics. Engage your mind more than you engage your mouth,” he said.

Philip, however, disclosed that no fewer than 4,200 workers who are due for promotion would be promoted in the state.

He maintained that Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa had approved the promotion of all deserving officers with attendant financial benefits.
