A man identified as Michael Chidozie has been apprehended by the Rivers State Police Command for allegedly beating his wife, Ufuoma Chidozie, 32, to death.

Ufuoma, a mother of three, was fatally assaulted at their residence near the Agip area of Mile 3 in Obio-Akpor Local Government Area.

Sources indicate that Chidozie, known for regularly beating his wife without provocation, fled after contacting the deceased’s brother.

Upon arrival, the brother discovered Ufuoma’s lifeless body, prompting him to report to the Agip Police Division.

The Public Relations Officer of the Command, Grace Iringe-Koko, confirmed to journalists that the suspect has been arrested, and the case is under investigation by the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department.
