A former Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Adetokunbo Kayode, has appealed to politicians in Ondo State to desist from attacking Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa.

According to Kayode, who had also served as Minister of Defence, the governor must be allowed to concentrate on governing the state without any form of distraction.

The former minister called on stakeholders in the state to embrace peace ahead of the November governorship election.

He harped on the significance of allowing Aiyedatiwa to remain undistracted while focusing on advancing the state’s developmental agenda and building upon the strides of the late former governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu.

Kayode, however, called for urgent attention to be given to the deplorable condition of arterial roads across the state.

He urged Aiyedatiwa to prioritise addressing the issue as part of his commitment to improving infrastructure in the state.

“Allow Governor Aiyedatiwa to breathe. Allow him to settle down to work for our children and our elders. Allow him to continue where our late, beloved governor stopped.

“The state and its people stand to gain nothing but pain, poverty, and penury if this incendiary politics of selfishness, hate, aggravation, and deception continues,” he cautioned.
