The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, has warned residents to be vigilant and report any suspicious movement around them.

The commandant of the Jigawa State Command of NSCDC, Muhmmed Danjuma, issued the warning while speaking about the preparation for a hitch-free Christmas celebration.

He said the command had ordered a massive deployment of personnel to provide watertight security within the 27 local government areas of the state before, during, and after the Yuletide.

He explained that the deployment cut across regular as well as specialised units, including Operations, Anti-Vandals, Agro Rangers, Armed Squad, Counter Terrorism, CBRNE, Intelligence and Investigation, Disaster Management, and Medical units, respectively.

He charged NSCDC officers to uphold the Corps Standard Operational Procedures, SOP, in carrying out their responsibilities.

He also warned them to be civil in their conduct and use minimal force where necessary.

Danjuma asked for the public’s cooperation, stressing the need to be vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the nearest security formation.
