Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni has charged newly sworn-in High Court Judge and Khadi, Sharia Court of Appeal in the state to have the fear of God in executing their duties in their new offices.
Buni gave the charge on Thursday at the swearing in ceremony of the two Judicial officers in Damaturu.
Justice Adamu Mohammed Jajere was sworn in as a High Court Judge while Kasim Mohammed Kasim was sworn in by the governor as Khadi, Shari’a Court of Appeal.
Gov. Buni, who congratulated the judicial officers, said their appointments were based on merit, thereby expressing optimism that they would use their wealth of experience to execute the duties of your offices with a high sense of responsibility and competence.
“May I remind you that this is a huge trust vested in you by your creator, to whom you will account for your actions. Therefore, you should be fair, just and most importantly have the fear of Allah (SWT) in executing your duties”, he said.
Buni further urged the officers to be fair and just “As the saying goes, “the Judiciary is the last hope of the common man”, hence their appointments as a Judge of the High Court and Khadi of the Sharia Court of Appeal, will contribute to the quick dispensation of justice to avoid the scenario of “Justice delayed, is Justice denied.”
“Let me also reassure you of the state government’s commitment to supporting the Judiciary to discharge its duties effectively and efficiently to promote quick dispensation of justice”, he assured.
