In line with the administration’s motto of promoting the Rule of Law, the NBA President, Mr. Yakubu C. Maikyau, SAN, OON has informed members of the NBA National Executive Council holding in Kenny State of the outcome of several policy engagements with the leadership of law enforcement agencies.

According to Mr. Yakubu Maikyau, SAN, the engagements are aimed at among other things ensuring the placement of lawyers in these agencies as a strategy to record increased compliance with human rights and the rule of law.

Mr. Maikyau also announced to NEC that the NBA Employment Bureau should be notified by legal practitioners whose applications for employment have been received by the respective law enforcement Agencies.

Mr. Maikyau had promised to institute an employment scheme and an Employment Bureau that would interface with Government Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) both at the Federal, State and Local Government levels, including the Armed Forces, Police and other paramilitary organizations, to seek placements for members.

In fulfillment of that promise, the NBA President on 17th September, 2022 constituted the NBA Employment Bureau.
