A 21-year-old unemployed men, Isaac Tony, was on Friday arraigned before an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court for allegedly being in possession of 32 SIM cards of different network providers.

Tony, who resides in Oshodi, Lagos State, was charged with fraud.

The prosecution counsel, Inspector Innocent Odugbo, told the court that Tony committed the offence on December 15 in the Apakun Lanre area, Oshodi, Lagos State.

Odugbo said the police apprehended the defendant when they suspected his moves were suspicious.

The prosecutor said while he was being searched, 32 SIM cards were found on him.

Odugbo said when the police questioned him, he could not give a satisfactory account of how he came about the SIM cards.

The offence contravened sections 328 and 329 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.

The Magistrate, Mrs M. F. Onamusi, admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum.

Onamusi adjourned the case till March 13 for mention.
