The NBA Minna Branch has stressed the need for a cordial working relationship between the judicial staff and the Bar for enhancing smooth administration of justice in the state. The Branch Chairman, Barrister Mohammad Waziri Abdulkadir made this call during a familiarisation meeting between Excos of Sharia Judges Association of Niger State( SHAJANS).

In what looked like a lecture series, the meeting was centred on issues that borders on judicial processes and procedures, and the inherent challenges and concerns therein. These include, the need for increased correspondences between the court and lawyers, appointment of suitable interpreters, late sittings by the judges among other sundry matters.

In his remark, the SHAJANS Chairman called on lawyers to be more courteous in their approach toward the court. Adding that, Appeal instead of petition writing could actually foster speedy dispensation of justice. He further noted that too much petition writing hinders the progress of court cases.

The Chairman therefore appealed with lawyers to give prior communication to SHAJANS before writing a petition against any of his members, assuring that internal sanctions will be exercised against any members found wanting for misconduct.

Responding, The Minnna NBA Chairman promised to take the messages back home for further engagement with members of his branch.
