Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike on Thursday commended the Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, over his performance while serving as governor of Anambra State.
Peter Obi and his running mate, Yusuf Baba-Ahmed are currently in Rivers State to commission the Ikoku flyover.
Speaking at the event, Governor Wike chided the incumbent governor of Anambra State, Professor Charles Soludo over his recent verbal attacks on the Labour Party candidate.
DAILY POST recalls that Soludo had on Monday set the internet on fire after releasing a lengthy article rubbishing the presidential ambition of Obi.
Wike, while speaking on the matter on Thursday urged Obi to ignore such attacks, stressing that Nigerians don’t like leaders who are upright.
The governor who believed that some of the attacks on Obi were due to envy, asked those attacking the LP presidential candidate to face their duty.
He said: “You have worked very well in Anambra. But some people because of the level you are now, they are envying you, they can come out and say all manner of rubbish, don’t worry, that is how it is.
“It is your own people that will kill you first, so don’t bother about those things. I have told people, stop criticizing people who have already left. If you are a professor, professor well, if you are a doctor, doctor well”.
