I write to salute the Dele Oloke led Ikeja branch of the Nigerian Bar Association on this remarkable Annual Lecture organized by the branch in commemoration of the life and times of the late legal titan, Chief Gani Fawehinmi, SAN. holding today at the Airport hotel Ikeja Lagos.

Your chosen theme for this 16th Annual Lecture; ” Is the Judiciary under treat ” is very apt, as it reflects the present day entrapment of the Legal Profession in Nigeria. Today’s lecture calls for sober reflection amongst lawyers, judicial officers and all concerned Nigerians on finding the needed respite for our Nation’s Judiciary.

As we celebrate the late Gani Fawehinmi, SAN today, I call on all lawyers to grow balls like the late Gani (an accomplished human rights and Rule of Law defender) to save our Legal Profession and Nigeria’s democracy.

Here’s wishing the Ikeja branch and all attendees, a fruitful, very rewarding and inspiring Fawehinmiism 2020.
