A 70-year-old man and four others have been killed by terrorists in the eastern part of Brinin-Gwari, in Brinin-Gwari Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

Seventeen others were also abducted by the terrorists between Monday, 14th March, 2022 to Friday, 18th March, 2022.

A statement from the chairman, Brinin-Gwari Vanguards for Security and Good Governance, Alhaji Ibrahim Abubakar Nagwari, lamented that, “in the last working days of the week, fatal security breaches were recovered mostly in the eastern part of Brinin-Gwari, notably in Dogo Dawa, Layin Mahuta and Tabanni, during which five persons were killed, seventeen others were abducted from Monday to Friday.”

He stated that on Tuesday, March, 15, 2022, Haruna Tanko Dogon Dawa and two others were cruelly murdered in the eastern part of Brinin-Gwari by armed bandits, along Dogon Dawa-Zaria road, adding that eight others were abducted on the same route.

The chairman explained that at layin Mahuta (Tabanni) one Abdullahi Abubakar, a school teacher was killed by bandits along Layin Lasan-Tabanni on Wednesday, 16th March, 2022, stressing that on Thursday, 17th March, 2022, a seventy-year-old man was killed and seven women abducted at Layin Mahuta-Tabanni.

“Two other men were abducted by the bandits at old Tabanni,” he added.

In Randagi general area, Nagwari said that bandits released 32 out of the 46 persons abducted during attacks at Uguwar Bula and Ijinga three weeks ago, after paying N16 million.

He urged security personnel to always listen to distress calls around Dogon Dawa, Kuyello, Tabanni and Kutemeshi wards in Brinin-Gwari.
