Aluko in a statement made available to our reporters today, commended the NBA President, Olumide Akpata and the Chairman of the NBA Welfare Committee, Yakubu C. Maikyau, SAN on the official flag off of the NBA-GIFSHIP and presentation of Access Cards to Beneficiaries holding on the 22nd February, 2022.

The NHIS-GIFSHIP is a Health Insurance Scheme for Lawyers conceptualised and introduced by the Olumide Akpata led NBA Executive through the innovation and industry of the Welfare Committee, chaired by Y.C. Maikyau SAN.

According to Aluko, “President Akpata is the first NBA President to introduce a solution that addresses the needs of every lawyer on such a scale. The Scheme guarantees access to quality medical and health care services for legal practitioners, their staff and loved ones across the Country.

It will insulate our loved ones from unexpected, high medical costs in case of emergencies.

This Scheme puts Lawyers in the drivers seat with regards to the care of our physical and mental health.

With the Flag-Off, the NBA has credited the accounts of every Nigerian Lawyer. As aptly stated by Virgil, “Opes maximae salutes est” ‘The greatest wealth is health’.
