The Kwara State Police Command has arrested a farm worker simply identified as Waheed for allegedly hacking his 65-year-old master, Ibrahim Ajayi-Allah, to death on his farm in Oke-Oyi in the Ilorin East Local Government Area of Kwara State.

Ajayi-Allah, a former staff member of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation at a depot in Oke-Oyi, was reportedly murdered on Friday, December 13, 2019.

The suspect, who was described as a middle-aged man and a worker on the farm of the deceased was said to have allegedly killed his boss after they had lunch together.

Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Mr Ajayi Okasanmi, said the arrested suspect had confessed to the crime, adding that he was helping the police in their investigation.

“The suspect had confessed to the commission of the crime. He is helping the police in their investigations and bid to close in on other accomplices,” Okasanmi stated.

A younger brother of the deceased, Yakub Abejide-Allah, who narrated how his brother was allegedly killed urged the police to ensure that all the suspects involved in the killing were made to face the wrath of law.

He said, “My elder brother was murdered on his farm in Oke-Oyi. Three years ago, he retired and chose to pursue agriculture which has always been his passion.

“When the police searched the suspect’s house, they found my brother’s phone and other personal effects. I felt so bad when I heard the news of my brother’s gruesome killing.”
